Just out of curiosity: how do you all prioritize how you RP on the site? Do you give preference for one character over another? Do you try to post every day or every other day come hell or high water?
I really want to know because I'm trying to form better posting habits myself and reading about how other people do it sounds...really interesting.
((Terminology: Collab=RP Thread with another Person))
When school is out or slow I try to respond to each of my collabs once per day, to a max of three replies a day unless they are fairly short (300-500 word replies). When school is in session I try to keep up to about a week each unless we are trying something different (or waiting for a third person to enter the collab). During finals all bets are off.
When I have multiple threads with postings on the same day I will prioritize based on which one is most likely to change the characters in the future. Both my own and my partners. As I don't want those collabs to die and my partner or I having our character development trashed.
But I always try to post for the person whose waited the most--or so I'd like to say. Sometimes someone will bug me on AIM more than others...
Oh and I keep all my collabs and my characters stats/technique threads in a "BGotei" bookmark folder so I can open them all in new tabs to look for replies in case the e-mail notification glitches.

For me, I go by which thread was started first and then follow through with the ones that come after it. However, when the writer's block come in I set the one I'm attempting to work on aside (or to the back of the line) and continue posting. If it happens to the next thread, then I do the same thing until I post or end up not doing anything, to which I then just leave it alone for a day or two for a muse to pop up.
On the other hand, some threads will take priority if I happen to have a good idea or inspiration. Once that one is done, it's back to the end of the line with them.
So mine is basically by chronological order (threads being started) with writer's block and a muse cutting in line from time to time.
I do enie-menie-minie-mo. In all seriousness, I just don't really get myself tangled in more then 3 threads, so I do it in order of who's actually posted yet.

I always go in order of which are most pressing.
For example: I have a thread where I have to post ever 72 hours. Ok, so if there's been a response, it's top priority.
After stuff like that where I have to respond, I look to group threads (more than 2 people) because I don't want to hold them up. Only time this isn't the case is where I haven't entered the rotation of threads yet.
Only after that do I look to my two-person threads and those I respond to in the order THEY responded. So whoever has been waiting longest gets the first reply. This same rule applies if I have to start a thread.
Look at my recent activity, I guess. I had to respond to Chris' thread first, though Denkou was waiting forever, I made the thread with Junko because she's been waiting for me to start our thread as well. Only then did I respond to me and Denkou's thread. And, when I have time, I'll respond to the Nobles thread.

I tend to do one or two Threads with one Mission thread at a time. As for the two non mission threads I judge how the interactions in said thread impact Hakuren the most. So like if there's a thread with Kasumi and a thread with say Junko, no offense to Junko but I would focus on the thread with Kasumi the most because of her character's relationship with Hakuren. However in the instance I'm in a mission I will focus on the mission simply because I do not want to accidentally miss my post time and wind up getting my character killed.
I tend to post in the ones that mean the most character development to the character. But I also rotate between my characters, posting with different people. Its not odd to see me dedicate one week per character type of thing. But I tend to be all over the map and really should apologize to people who wait on replies for me, you guys are the best. -nods-
I limit the numbers of characters i play to one, and then i post when ever im needed. judging by what i am given in a thread i try to respond with equal or grater amount of care. aka when ever i have a post I post.
There's a lot of good stuff here; thanks everyone. I feel so fortunate to have found such a great and diverse group of people I consider my friends. Thank you very much for taking the time to post here as I see many great ideas and methods here that I hope can improve my own habits. Also its kinda fun to talk about XD
This is what I do, usually; I post for the person that's been waiting the longest. I make exceptions, however, when a person is waiting on me to post in a thread I haven't posted in yet. Group threads then take priority, with the longest waiting one being first. Then solo threads.
However, considering I rarely leave a topic alone for a day without a post, I usually just post whenever.
Also, Kasumi. Waiting is half the fun! It's fun to anticipate what you might type!
