Hello one
Hello ALL.
(I've always wanted to say that...)
...enough breaks with each sentence...
ANYWAY - I've been thinking. I'm a big fan of the novels based off the world of Dungeons and Dragons by one very inspiring author by the name of R.A. Salvatore (or, as you may know, Bob Salvatore) and his extremely popular [according to several things I've read, THE most popular] fantasy character of all times... Drizzt Do'Urden! I think my eyes partially melt every time I pick up one of his books and begin reading. The books are sexy.
Anyway, I don't care about your feelings towards Bob Salvatore, Drizzt and any Dungeons and Dragons books out there. That isn't my point for writing this up. As I said, I thoroughly enjoy reading these pieces, and I've been wanting to for a long time... well, write it myself. I don't think I have what it takes to become an author (obviously...) but hopefully one day I will. However, my idea here, and my idea now is to build onto that interest in the only other way I know how.
FORUM ROLEPLAY!
Much like what we have here for Bleach. Yup. I want to make a Dungeons and Dragons Forum (post2post) Roleplay. I realize I COULD play the online game DDO (Dungeons and Dragons Online) or play one of the newer D&D Board games, or even go into pen & paper style D&D. And you know what? That's exactly what I'm doing.
But I want more.
I desire more
I crave more
I must have more.
So, I've decided to actually make a D&D Forum RP.
I know all of what I want, too.
For starters, I know I want it to stay on the continent of Faerun for now. Possibly expand when/if members join and things start to get crowded.
All races to be playable (For the love of god, yes, that means Elves, Humans, Dwarves, Drow, Giants, Ogres, Orcs etc. etc.) and of course the sub-category/races whateverthey'recalled such as Lich and Vampire.
Since we have Drow, I want to have the Underdark of course. The City of Spiders is a must. Menzoberranzan is simply sexy.
Spellplague? Heard o' that? Yup. I want it.
Maybe Crenshinibon...
But to any other readers out there who read D&D Novels that take place in Faerun, we shall have all canon locations (such as Mithril Hall, Silverymoon, Luskan and Waterdeep. Icewind Dale) but NO CANONS! No canon characters. No Drizzt Do'Urden, no Virena Do'Urden, no Dinin no Maya Do'Urden, no Matron Mother Malice. No Jarlaxel. No Bruenor. No Regis. No Wulfgar. No Catti-Brie.
And most of all, no Stat Systems. I know this is possibly for A forum based D&D simply because there are no stats in the novels. There may be disputes. But most of all, D&D isn't bleach. Things are much more definitive. You're humans. You either have an enchanted something or not. You're mortal. You're not [typically] super human. This would literally have to do with your skill and how the other person fights. Therefore, if I make this, I will not have a stat system.
[and it'd be extremely complicated... extremely. Don't lie, either. You know it'd be hard]
