Getting Started!
Alright, before you go jumping straight into creating your character and delving into the fabulous world of Bleach Gotei, there are a few things you'll have to know first.
Most importantly, we, the members as well as staff, have expectations! Proper online etiquette, courteousness, and the willingness to improve as a writer is a must. There is always room for improvement; nobody is a perfect roleplayer, and if you are unwilling to accept constructive criticism from the staff, it will make your start here a very rocky one.
No one's applications are denied or rejected- the approval staff is there to help you get the most out of your application, not to intimidate you.
[/color]Now that we've gotten that tidbit out of the way, lets get started!
Step 1: Read the Rules!
Joining a site without reading the rules beforehand is a good way to get yourself into trouble; trust me, you don't want to learn them the hard way, and its a hell of a lot easier not only for you but the staff as well. Think they wanna frump around scolding people for things that are clearly stated just a link away? Of course not!
We know you're antsy about getting to that application, but don't skip out on the rules!
And for information about what we mean by "Alternate Universe/AU," look here:
Now that you're familiar with the rules and setting of the site, you can now begin your character application! You've got several races to choose from, with an information page on each.
Captain and lieutenant/Espada ranks are not given from the get-go. These must be attained via roleplay, as well as Prestige Classes.
Prestige Classes are solely given to roleplayers who have put a great amount of time and dedication into their character. Vaizard, Advent Human, and Peak Hollow are Prestige Classes. These are only acquired upon heavy character development followed by applying with the proper class template to the staff and being approved. These applications are judged much harsher than regular character applications.
When filling out your character template, its important to remember that we at Bleach Gotei value quality over quantity- meaning we prefer the content of your writing versus the number of paragraphs. Three paragraphs can hold more detail and information than a whole three pages. While descriptions are encouraged, it is important to know when something elegantly written turns fluffy and more like psycho babble. Nobody wants to read a wall of 1000+ word text describing how you tore the wings off a butterfly.
Imporant Reminder: Remember that staff members have a lot on their plate! It can sometimes take a number of days before they even get to look at an application. Nagging staff is never a good idea! Please bear with them and be patient. If you ABSOLUTELY feel the need to remind them, do so politely and courteously.
Remember also to put a tag in your thread title saying "Finishedâ€" when your application is done so that staff knows it has been completed and is awaiting approval. It takes one pre-approval and one final approval for a character to be allowed to roleplay.
Now that we have that covered, lets get that template!
Alright, you've been approved. Now what? Well, here's what: you were given a number of GP in the post dictating your final approval. What is GP, you ask? Its the currency here on Bleach Gotei! You use it to buy stats and skills, and later on down the road, techniques.
An in depth explanation of stats and skills can be found on this page:
Scrolling down on said page, you will find the skills indicative of each race.
The instructions and codes for how to properly spend your GP is here:
If you need more help with the math involved with GP to stat point/skill point conversion, just post in the Help board or pop in the cbox. Our members are always willing to help a new face in need.
Post your stats/skills/techs in the appropriate racial board "Stats & Techniques," and you're ready to go! You don't need to wait for approval on these to roleplay unless you plan on fighting in your very first thread, fyi.
And there you have it, you're ready to roll! If you need to go back and find any other pages, check our Index:
