Kiriko looked around carefully, her freshly pressed clothes hung neatly off her body but she still could not be sure of the entrance she was about to make. This was not an official errand nor even a request and the personal nature of her visit to the Third Division, home of the Kido Corps, was something of a secret that she needed to keep silent. Kiriko harbored an inner weakness, a fact of life that had become abundantly clear during her last mission, driven home by the painful reality of her inability to protect those under her command. Her terrible deficiency when it came to combat. It was easily hidden when all she fought were division-mates in the training field but much harder to mask when Kiriko was pit against a true enemy as she had been so recently. The bitter taste of defeat, of imperfection, it was too painful to swallow.
Kiriko refused to accept her flaws. She was not just going to roll over and live with the inherent weakness of her body. With the fact that she was not good enough in any one subject to be a force to be reckoned with. Kiriko stood for many things in her job as Lieutenant of the Second, and none of those things represented weakness. If there was such a failing of her flesh then she needed to cut it out and rebuild. She simply forbade herself from living with the shame of ineptitude.
The result had come about slowly in her mind. Watching Sakuya's powerful attacks during that all out brawl had caused Kiriko to reassess herself. To catalog her strengths. Her arsenal. And the truth was not pretty, was not reassuring, but it was interesting. Kiriko had passable skills in most areas, though she was better at hand to hand combat and Kido than anything else. Two opposite sides of the spectrum, one close range one distance based. The only conclusion she had been able to make was that there had to be a way to bridge that gap. There had to be!
And if anyone would know about the esoteric uses of Kido it would be the Kido Corps. The secretive group wasn't hard to find despite their hidden nature, though Kiriko was unable to actually locate anyone from said aggregation she could certainly locate the Third Division's headquarters. And now that she was here all that stood in her way was the bureaucracy of inter-Division politics.
Standing tall in her most intimidating manner Kiriko strode into the main building with a sharp glare on her face. She knew how to deal with underlings and honestly rather expected the people at the Third to be of sterner stuff than most due to their duties, because of that she approached the first person to be found and relayed her orders. A request really, couched in the terms of rank and authority. “I need to speak with someone from the Kido Corps.” Kiriko wasn't sure who that sort of sentence would bring her too, but as the young Shinigami scurried off to do Kiriko's bidding she hoped it was at least someone with enough knowledge to direct her in the right way. Who knew, maybe she would really be lucky today and actually get a meeting with the Kido Corps.
