Since I already brought up Shingeki no Bahamut & since I have nothing better to do & since it was brought up in discord, I'm gonna drop some anime recommendations/reviews. A combo of stuff I've watch recently & "best in their category"
If you like a mixture of action & plot, Dimension W's a good choice. It's not mindless action, you really have to pay attention to the characters and what's happening to understand what's going on later in the anime. But it's a pretty cool journey, and the ending is wrapped up nicely.
Gangsta: I probably would've watch this anyway, but I first started this anime in the hopes it would gives me Samurai Champloo vibes. I think it succeeded, but I have friends who disagree, so it's a hit-or-miss. What this anime does have is cool action, good music, and a not-terrible plot. I'd like to warn everyone though that no matter what you expect of the ending, you WILL be disappointed.
Barakamon: Usually the only people who haven't seen Barakamon are people who don't watch slice of life animes. If you DO watch slice of life & you haven't seen Barakamon...wat u doin homie. If you want to TRY a SoL anime, I think Barakamon's a good start, even if it's not a total beginner anime. I say that because some of the jokes are Japanese, where it's funnier when you understand the language & immediately know what's going on. But they aren't hard to understand even if you don't know, and that isn't the only humor in the anime. It's 12 episodes, so it's short & sweet.
Nichijou: This is the #1 slice-of-life anime that I would recommend to someone wanting to try the genre. I would say try it even if you aren't usually into SoL, if you like comedy. Nichijou is hilarious.
Dia no Ace (Ace of Diamond): This is a sports anime. If you've never tried sports anime, watch Dia no Ace. If you've seen sports anime, but haven't watched Dia no Ace, watch Dia no Ace. Real-life baseball is boring. Sports anime baseball is fun to watch. Yuki Tetsuya is my husband.
