Dew is a little bit too strong. That first power is just too good. Considering replacing it with Vigilence or something or just re-dewing him completely. Maybe something about shield counters that prevent damage and then...hmmm
You know I almost have an interesting idea forming here similar to the original "Rock Hydra"...
The problem is in DC-10 you get 10 mana a turn. Even on your opponent's turns. This makes Dew almost impossible to deal with. It also doesn't match his flavor as an equipment user, as the equipment would all fall off each time he blunk.
unless you gave him the ability that 'when this card comes into play equip any number of Equipment cards to this creature' like a few cards have.
I don't like creating equipment as it usually comes down to "why didn't I just give him the power to begin with" and its not like Dew gives out his weapons to others. I don't like abilities that require having equipment in your hand (or in play) and searching the pile/deck in DC-10 takes too long.
I would almost consider "When Dew enters the battlefield, reveal the top cards of your deck until you reveal an equipment card and put it into play, attached to him". But that implies he can like...copy the weapons and abilities of others because most of the equipment will probably be specific zanpaktou. That's really more like Gilgamesh.
I almost like the idea of him letting you turn instants/sorceries in your hand into equipment that give him +1/+1 and "Whenever equipped creature deals combat damage to a player, cast this spell". Kinda like imprint? Turning spells into equipment? I kinda like it.
But it kinda makes him blue and while that fits (as a Fairy) I don't like white/blue outside of quincy.
Dew, Prince of Light 2WW Legendary Creature - Human Fairy At the beginning of your upkeep you may exile an instant from your hand. If you do, put a put a colorless Equipment artifact token named Sparkle onto the battlefield. It has "Equipped creature gets +1/+1 and whenever equipped creature deals combat damage to a player, you may copy the exiled card. If you do, you may cast the copy without paying its mana cost," and equip 4 2/3
That's certainly an interesting way of doing it. I think simply allowing him to create equipment sort of like the stone forge planeswalker would be cool. Allow him to create an equipment with +1/+1 and a single keyword from a list of options, once per turn?

BG commander. All custom cards/rename and reart most cards. Would be fun.
Too much work although I have found out that Cockatrice can do custom cards without a whole lot of hassle (admittedly there is the baseline problem of manually activating...everything and most players not having a flawless knowledge of how every keyword, phrasing, and stack interaction operates.) I think it'd be fine to just have Planeswalker (or not) Commanders and letting everything else be what it normally is since reskinning everything would be entirely beyond the scope of casual fun. It also means that things are easier to balance since Commander isn't like DC10 and follows normal rules, at least as far as balancing factors are concerned.
All it would take is a couple steps
1. Each player makes a card. 2. Card is judged, tinkered with, etc. by other players until satisfactory. 3. Card gets added to an album of card images. 4. Players add the cards in that album to the custom folder for Cockatrice. 5. Players modify the card listing documenting (which can pretty easily taught.) 6. Construct a legal Commander deck around your new Commander. 7. Play
The only caveat I could think of would be that the custom cards cannot emulate an ability which is banned for the format (ie. your card can't give you Time Walk everytime you're sent back to the zone.)
Hey I haven't done like a big pile of cards since then. The next clump I do will be shinigami. But when the moment hits me and I randomly think of a perfect card for someone, you better believe I'll stop what I'm doing and run off to make it.
