no. probably not. i don't see it as likely and if it does happen as Kyousuke said, there would be a reason. lol.

We just need a strong enough Hollow Player to cause them problems, and get people more interested in the Hollow Races. I'm starting Shini mostly because it has the most people, and would technically be easier to get my feet wet with. But Hollows are really fun, but difficult. But I'm definitely going to have fun with them later on some day.
And yeah, there'd be a reason for it. Just hopefully I'm here to see it if it ever does.
no. because if that was the case it would've been done earlier. "a strong Hollow player" does not make a race just like "players" doesn't make a community.
Even Obsession is aware of that and that's why he burned Las Noches. It was a pretty accurate reflection on the Hollow Meta.
Try to think back when the last memorable Espada -> Fraccion relationship was that actually affected the story? I struggle I really do. I think Takua and somebody? There's your answer why the Hollow race sucks.

The Siege was a certifiable disaster, but not because it was people simply playing their characters.
You cannot ask someone to spend two years and hundreds of thousands of words (enough for entire trilogies!) just to have a Prestige character that dies "because it was natural" and then tell them to like it. Bleach Gotei, in the way it's currently setup, harshly punishes the very kind of "organic" play that so many people want to experience. It doesn't just punish the players either, it punishes everyone. We lost a ton of Espada that could have made Las Noches much more relevant outside of Alter Tova, and therefore made more interesting things happen for other people. On it's own, that's not bad. What's bad is no one could really step in to replace that because those characters require too much work to easily replace. These are undeniable facts and it's completely reasonable that some people get protective of this huge investment.
Given the way Bleach Gotei currently exists, you'd need to completely overhaul everything about character pacing to make "natural" play less punishing. Until then, there's a reason that every single thing I do is built to be private, uninterruptible and pre-determined: The risks associated with any other approach aren't just asking me to give up tons of my own work and years of my own time. They also greatly hamper my ability to give back to others. I can do more with Shun than Noboru, after all, and losing Shun means other people lose out too.
It's something I think about a lot and, although I was going to wait to make a thread on the subject, it seems to have come up on its own. Oh well.
That's a cool way of looking at it. Is your Substitute Shini going to show up? Or does she not know about it IC yet?
She's very much aware of it, unfortunately, and is in the process of warning the Captain Commander about Obsession's impending attack. Whether or not Tokiyo takes her warning seriously, rallies the troops and prepares, or feeds her a line of bullshit and sends her on her merry way has yet to be determined.
I've never once led one of these things nor do I ever intend to

>captain challenge thread. I'm still laughing about the "you motherfucker." from that surprise.
I can't argue with you about the execution thread and won't even try. I will say it made sense and I actually enjoyed reading that.
And, oddly enough, I agree with the last two things you said. Not sure if scared or if impressed. Also taking the 'see it from miles away' thing and going to sit and think on that for future things.

Now the underlined bit I can agree on. Even if not completely the whole Shini-stance. Things being 100% scripted isn't all that fun. Not unless someone comes along and throws a spanner in the works just to see what happens. (In that regards, I'm mostly on the side of (Have a general goal, but if it gets derailed have fun with it.).
And I thought you were in on that thread, rather than popped in just to see what'd happen.

we could have done the siege without deaths and it would still have been fucking incredible simply because of the scale and the player agency

1. Since the Battle of HM the growth rate of Hollow has been fucked. 2. It was NEVER allowed to recover because of comments about Hollow being shit and "HO YAY TIME TO INVADE ___LOCATION____" Plots. 3. NO Espada as far as I can tell actually tried to make meaningful Fraccion out of new members.
^^^^
Honestly you can maintain about 7? Espada pretty fucking easily. Also for some reason Monarchs like to do one huge load of threads with their subjects and then NOTHING for months. Granted the players have real lives but if you're a monarch you should be expected to maintain some degree of activity.
BUT HO YAY.
Nobody sticks around because Hollow just fall apart from the top level fundamentally.
18<28Takua18> To the point that that relatinoship(between Espada and Fraccion) drove him to Prestige

Yeah. One of my personal life goals is to try and make that a thing one of these years (once I you know actually learn how to play on the site, and not suck.). But I can see having a Prestige that practically was the best thing in Hollow History (and I still hear talk about him), and how he and (for a very short while Obsession) actually made something out of Hollows. Then all the sudden dying, sending the race crashing into the ground, as a bad thing.
It kind of makes it sad that there's so little incentive other than personal freedom to play a Hollow (or at least that's how it's coming across T_T). Humans have sapience and a conscious. Shini are military gods of death. Hollow ... Hollow are beasts consumed by hunger. Kill Hollows. It's sad really (sure my character is going to have a similar mindset IC. Still sad OOC.).
As for organic story telling. I believe in a bit of it, if only to allow for some growth, but having a guide or script of a general guideline. Keeps everyone in the same general boat, and makes sure that someone who'd get slaughtered otherwise has a chance of living.
That's a cool way of looking at it. Is your Substitute Shini going to show up? Or does she not know about it IC yet?

counterpoints: 1. not even all the espada actually took part in the siege, this speaks volumes about their dedication 2. we've had some pretty fucking awful leaders on the shinigami side too 3. do you even have espada nowadays?
dare I suggest that hollow-breeds, like minor races and quincy, attract a certain kind of player above all others
and that the race itself requires the players to leap through such ridiculous hoops just to become remotely playable in the setting as it stands that most people just go "fuck it" and roll a much more interesting race (shinigami)
I mean let's not forget that these are beings that are, on their most basic levels, driven by insatiable hunger and what essentially amounts to madness
every time I see anyone with a yellow name have a tea drinking thread I immediately write that character off and pretend they no longer exist because they have assassinated all credibility and anything they do after that point might as well never have happened because they have completely and totally forsaken what it means to play a hollow-breed in order to play house with (what is usually) a race that their first instinct should be to either consume, kill, or both.
shinigami don't have that problem. I can quite casually, without a care in the world, maim Miyuki one day and then go have a cup of espresso with Rania the next, and even go so far as to invite her to be my roommate.
these are things that say a lot about a character and exist in an avenue that realistically can't be explored by an arrancar or a hollow if they want to be taken seriously
playing those races, therefore, would be boring to the average player
and thusly people play shinigami instead
QED shinigami master race
edit here, like this: kyousuke cooks
he renovates the Annex, putting a really nice kitchen in there, and he cooks. that's his thing. it's completely fucking normal, the guy's gotta eat and he's pretty good with a knife so why not?
then you have alter fucking tova diablo having sex with some arrancar slut on top of a washing machine in his tower
and I'm just like
edit2 actually that gif sums up a lot of aTova's escapades

I'm making a Javaid Ginyu Force creation thread. I expect to be the only one but that doesn't matter because reasons.
What's that? And yeah on your above point. That's why it's a future OOC goal of mine. I really want to see Hollows Succeed. At least in having a Monarch that's not going to screw them like a 2 dollar prostitute. I mean I see Hollows and I see a potential for greatness. If only someone would come around and bring them together, and not screw them just as they're starting to get powerful.
