Alright, it seems to be settling down and I'm just - completely out of anything left to say for the discussion and have summed up my views a few times. So I'll leave it at: I'm sorry if, at any point, I did step on anyone's toes and my outlook came out anything less than respectful. I was serious about this discussion, and maybe that was weird for some people, but I do stand by the fact that I think it was something that needed - on some levels, at least - to be taken seriously.
Apologies still stand. Conflict and confrontation aren't really my things.
We're singing I believe that lovers should be chained together and thrown into a fire with their songs and letters, and left there to burn. Left there to burn in their arrogance.

Ehh, variants have a few more options when beginning out than I think you guys realize or appreciate. Having been playing a Variant for a year and a half I think a lot of people have a very warped view of the Variant experience, especially a more modern one! But I digress. Let the memelords run wild.

You really didn't do anything wrong, Cheshire.
And there's nothing wrong with realizing that conflict and confrontation aren't for you -- I used to hate it. But you're definitely right that it's a good discussion to have, no matter what. So you have nothing to apologize for.
If anyone here thinks Variants are being picked upon, they have no idea what the history of BG was like.
Variants used to be "only Fullbringer". Your Mortal had to get their power from interaction with a hollow and had to have "Fullbring" as their skill with "Soften" as their first rank. You were only allowed to diverge at Prestige, and there was a movement at the time to classify all Prestige Mortals as "Kami".

Twins were originally ghosts who were going to go either Shinigami, Hollow or a mix depending on who/what got to them first. Then they were going to be Shinigami who shared a Zanpakuto. Then Hollow who shared a mask. Ultimately Staff said I had to go fullbringer.
Point is? New things can be fun and exciting and our site supports them now (almost) more than ever.

Maybe Munin doesn't realize it, but I think he's a super imaginative and cool player.
But out of all the kinds of Variants you can make, an android might be one of the most disconnected from the setting.
Shit, how does he even have spiritual pressure if he's not a soul?
Doesn't make a lick of sense but I'd never tell the man he can't. I'm sure he's thought about this at least a bit, though, which is why I really like Munin as a player. Very thoughtful.
Thank you for the compliment, first off.
Secondly: MUNIN IS A PERFECTLY FINE I appreciate that you acknowledge the additional hoops.
I don't bring up why it has spiritual pressure that often because it really doesn't matter why it does. It's nothing more than technobabble that justifies why it can do the thing.
But eh.
I just like the idea, and I did the thing. I also know where I'm going with this, which makes everything interesting.
Besides, you can expect me to go for Second Power relatively soon, so look forward to that

There's really no better possible answer than this.
It doesn't make sense, so don't waste your time technobabbling at everyone. It's not important, it's not the point, and addressing it is wasted energy better suited to doing the thing.
