The Anomaly
A look in the mirror ~
Name: Alexandria Dewis
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Height & Weight: 5'6" | 125 lbs
Hair & Eyes: Alex's hair is silvery, borderline white in bright light. Before her hair hung straight and only went down to the back of her neck at it's longest point. Now her hair cascades in wild locks, all the way down her back before finally stopping right at her tailbone. She's not used to such long hair, and often keeps it tied back in a ponytail, making it easier to maneuver over her shoulder to avoid sitting or laying on it. In battle, her hair is set free of this restriction to flow about behind her in the invisible winds of her spiritual pressure.
Alex's eyes remain the silvery gray they were before, but there have been some changes to them in the past few years. Where her pupils once contracted into dots like most, now when they contract the shape becomes reminiscent of a cat's eye. This can happen when any of her emotions flare up, from anger to sadness, happiness and shock. Though the effect is most noticeable when the woman is angry.
Physical Description: With the sudden onset of puberty, very sudden, there have been a few changes to Alex's physique. While before her body was androgynous, bordering on the feminine side, now her shape is distinctly feminine now that her hips have pushed out some, and her bust has inflated to a certain degree. Her skin has gotten a touch rosier, so she doesn't appear to be a gray ghost any longer, though she would still get burns from staying in the sun too long if not for her power. An understandably unnoticed aspect of her skin is the markings left from five years of battling hollows. Often covered by her baggy clothing, and previously impossible to make out against porcelain skin, Alex's body is decorated with thin white scars of varying length. Even with her new skin tone, the scars are almost imperceptible without close examination. Most of them at least. There is one scar that is very prominent if one ever gets a good look at her back. One gift of many from an old adversary. A small, semicircle opening downwards above a larger one that is open upwards. A diamond longer than it is tall sits between these, with a long vertical line running down the center of it all. While she keeps her hair in a ponytail to keep it manageable, she still maintains bangs that cover one or both of her eyes, depending on the tilt of her head.
Clothing: There have been a few changes to her outfit since her change as well. While before she would never be seen without her somewhat signature tiara, she only wears it these days when she's hanging out with friends. Otherwise, her tiara will be kept in a bladed form, which she carries about in a kendo sword bag to avoid rousing suspicion. Gray and black striped long sleeve shorts still have a place in her wardrobe. As do black jeans. Alex's wardrobe has expanded though, and now includes a few light, lace-edged tank tops, normal jeans, and even a few skirts she's usually far too afraid to wear. No matter what she's wearing though, her twin white belts and silver buckle will be hanging around her waist.
Posture and Reiatsu: Body language and reiatsu quality are quite in sync when it comes to Alex. Short of dying her hair and getting a large amount of sunlight, she was bound to stand out from the crowd. While before she acknowledged it, now when she's out and about, she revels in it. Her steps are sure, her head high, and her reiatsu diffusing the area around her with a warm, golden glow for those who can see it. The world dims around her as a result of her powers, further pushing her into focus. But for every high, there is a low, and her recent changes have more or less thrown her previous forced emotional stability out the door. When frightened or distressed, its the exact opposite. She'll curl up, become even less colorful if that's even possible, and even appears to fade from view, barely there like a ghost. Her reiatsu will become a faint, bluish glow that hovers over her skin, and trails behind her like a cold mist. When neither cheerful, nor depressed, her reiatsu takes a similar middle ground in retaining it's golden color, but keeping close to her body and trailing like mist rolling off her s
A journey to the soul ~
Positive Traits
- Determined | Before, Alex was determined to change the world as she saw fit. To change the world into what it should be, or to just tell herself some aspect of it is already fine. She was most determined to lie to herself about anything that didn't fit with how she wanted it to be. Now, she wants to start over. Get things right. Actually try to make a difference rather than playing at revenge and heroics. If there's a chance, she'll take it. If there isn't, then her energy is better spent finding an alternative course of action.
- Practical | The world has taught Alex several things, both about it, and herself. But above all, her experiences have taught her to be practical. She can't just try to befriend everyone she meets, and no one is happy all the time. She has to treat anyone she meets first with caution before she can even begin to trust them, and allow herself some time to not only feel sad and angry, but look it too. Even partially bottled emotions can become overwhelming, and far fewer people are as trustworthy as they may initially look.
- Open | Like any other spiritually active human, Alex has been through a lot. Lost loved ones, gotten her ass handed to her on more than one occasion, and learned that monsters are a little more than that if you care to look a little closer. The only thing she knows for certain is what she learned the day she activated her powers. That the world is not as it seems. Adapting as you learn more isn't an option. Even the craziest idea will get a second look and some consideration. Even if only to affirm that it is nonsense.
- Passionate | Her understanding is that one can't do what she does without passion. You can't face a beast several times your size and fight it unless there was something you cared about enough. Whether it is the task itself, or the knowledge that you kept someone safe through your actions. Without energy, you get sloppy, you stop working as hard, and that can get you killed in the end. The same can be said for caring too much. Throwing everything you have into everything you do could lead to just as many mistakes as hardly trying at all. It's a tough balance to reach, but she cares just enough to shoulder the struggle.
Negative Traits
- Uncompromising | Some things are right, and some things are wrong. There are circumstances that might determine how harshly one must be punished or rewarded, but the base idea is all the same. Attacking an innocent is wrong. Even if you did not realize they were an innocent. Sparing the life of someone who asks for mercy is right, even if you are certain they will try to backstab you later. This can lead to arguments very quickly with those who try to use the circumstances around an action to justify or condemn it, but they are arguments Alex is more than happy to see through.
- Judgmental | Most people can't be taken at face value, but Alex is quite quick to assign a value to someone based on their actions, or those they associate with. A shinigami is more likely than not a soldier who follows orders and embraces hypocrisy to continue validating their actions. A hollow is probably a tortured soul that couldn't resist eating an unchanged soul if given the chance. An arrancar is usually a sneaky, backstabbing jerk who can't be trusted as far as they can be thrown. She is more than happy to be proven wrong in individual cases, but until then sweeping generalizations give her an appropriate level of guard for any situation, and snap judgments can always be revised.
- Loyal | When you make few friends and have a chance of them dying at any time, you work to keep the ones you have. If they need help, they get it. If they have a plan that seems to hold water, you can at least go along with it long enough to get a better idea of what its all about. Your friends had to work hard to win your trust. They should have to work just as hard to lose it. Only fair after all.
- Pessimistic | The world is pretty shit. The innocent can become monsters, the supposed protectors are corrupt, and the rest of those who know can't stop squabbling among themselves long enough to truly pull together and try to make a difference. A rather depressing thought, but it's harder to be disappointed when the bar is laying against the ground. Alex knows what she does probably won't make a difference. She can still try, but if nothing comes of it, that's just less tears shed over a failed plan and time that can go into designing the next plan that might fail.
Code of Honor: The Innocent ~ No one is truly innocent, but if I haven't seen them doing anything wrong, then it's nor my problem. I'm not here to police regular people, even if they're determined to break the planet. What I'm here to do is hunt down the things that go bump in the night. Anything less than that, and humans can handle it on their own.
The Guilty ~ An eye for an eye, and the whole world goes blind. A bit barbaric, but it is the sort of system that ensures people will eventually stop gouging out each others eyes. A pickpocket doesn't get to enjoy the fruits of their labor. That money will go to better use in someone else's pocket. And if you're going to try and make others feel powerless because you have a gun and they don't? Imagine what it will be like to have a golden rapier at your throat? To be stared down by eyes that hold no remorse for you in the slightest. Eyes that don't even seem human? Yeah, maybe then you'll rethink waving your silly bit of metal and lead around.
The Unforgivable ~ Exactly what it says on the tin. If you find yourself in this category, then you've seriously done something wrong and should rethink your life. Or rather, rethink what part of your life you've got left. A rather cliche threat perhaps, but if you've gotten yourself this distinction, then you should be well aware that I can follow through on it.
On the Races: Humans ~ Little people, going about their lives, not knowing just what waits for them on the other side of the curtain. It would be cute if it wasn't so disappointing. Most are ignorant, and those that think they know are still horribly wrong, and regarded as insane, or pranksters. Even worse to know that at one point I thought just like one of them.
Spiritualists ~ Mostly alright. Mostly. At least they have a clue what's going on. Still, no one can relate perfectly, and while it is possible to make friends out of them, even they can't be trusted immediately. Just like humans, they can be less than pure in their intentions. Even when they're smiling to your face. Conclusion? Approach with caution, and don't be afraid to go for the sword if I need to. Never know when I might run into one who doesn't deserve their arrogance, but does deserve a few knocks around the head.
Quincies ~ I've only met a few, but all I can say is they're weird. I don't understand any of their powers or motives. It looks like they're some sort of spiritualist, so I'll just apply the same principles to them that I would for any other spiritualist. Approach with caution, do not befriend immediately, and be ready to knock about if necessary.
Shinigami ~ Useless. That's really all that should be said of them. They're obviously not reigning in the hollows if there are enough of those and normal spirits running around to become them. As a matter of fact, some of the strongest hollows walked into Karakura, killed most of the normal residents, and then apparently blew up the entire suburb. And where were the shinigami? Gods of Death indeed.
Hollows ~ Kill on sight. Pitiful things, almost, but there's nothing that can be done for them. Even if they came from humans, they're nothing but drooling beasts now. They are an annoyance at best, and a menace at worst. I've grown past truly caring about humanity, but by killing these monsters, it's more than likely I've spare whoever their next victim will be. Whatever. They're good for a snack.
Arrancar ~ Approach with caution and assume hostility at the slightest sign. As much as I'd really rather not say it, these things are rather interesting. They come from hollows, and yet they have a human form. One even has a means to appear to normal humans. Some sort of skin suit. But that's besides the point. They might be able to be reasoned with. Might, but I'm more inclined to think they're only a step above hollows. Still, they might be useful. If you can get them talking, they can be useful for information at least.
A glimpse of the beyond ~
Her Power: Alex's main ability sounds rather simple on paper, but it can be as multifaceted as a gem if one only takes the time to practice and refine it. The ability to manipulate light. Now most, when seeing that, might think it just involves creating constructs out of light. While Alex can do this, there are other applications of this power. She can bend the light around him to slip through it and move about without being seen. Or freeze it in place, creating a solid material of it that cuts and pierces, rather than just a burning hot clump of light. She might inject light mixed with her own reiatsu to disrupt the abilities of another. And this is just what Alex can accomplish with light in the visible spectrum. If she manipulated light on all wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum, the destruction Alex could cause, or the good she can do only grows many times over.
Her Focus: A personal fullbring is an object that holds significance to the fullbringer. It gains strength with the fullbringer with all the memories that are infused into it when it is touched. It can be something as inconspicuous as a coin, or an old watch. For Alex, her fullbring is anything but inconspicuous. A silver tiara, crafted by her blacksmith father, and up until recently, seemingly glued to her head. Where ever Alex went, she wore the tiara. It became her main weapon, and in a world filled with hollows, it was prudent to always have it on hand.
Alex's fullbring once needed to be released for her to activate her ability to manipulate light. Her activation of her fullbring weakened the seal on her soul enough for her natural ability to manifest, leading to the belief that the two were connected. With the seal broken, this is clearly no longer the case. It has one of three possible forms that it can take. A sword, and two sets of armor that modified Alex's defensive ability or her speed. The sword, before, took the shape of a giant broadsword, almost as long as Alex was tall. That form was a fraud however. A shape that reflected Alex's belief that she was male. Large and deadly, but inelegant. Wielding the blade required large swings that didn't afford for very much technique other than smashing things. When Alex learned the truth, and subsequently changed, the sword changed as well to reflect this.
Once silver in color, the sword was now gold, with what could be described as molten light running down the flat of the blade. It took the shape of a rapier, and only reached three feet in length for the blade. The handle is cobalt in color, with a gold wire wrapping about it. The basket hilt of the blade also appeared to be made of gold, and the pommel now had a bit of decoration that resembled a griffin. Given it's new, more manageable form, Alex is able to carry her fullbring in it's weapon form without arousing suspicion. This is done through storing the blade in a kendo sword tube. A zipper along the side of the tube makes it possible to quickly access the blade if a fight breaks out.
A road left behind ~
Like all people, and especially all fullbringers, Alex's story starts before the day of her birth. It starts with her mother and father, Angelica and Matthew Dewis. Matthew was a blacksmith, and loved the profession to the point that he even traveled to japan to try and learn under the old masters. Standing at over six feet tall, with dark skin and burning red hair, Matthew stood out from the crowd. As did his workings. Anything the man worked on had the ability to work against spirits more effectively than normal metal, even though the man himself knew and saw very little by way of spirits. All the better for the secret spiritualists and quincy among his clientele, otherwise he might have gotten the idea to jack up the price of his wares to make a better living for himself and have more funds to work on his personal projects.
Now Angelica was the almost complete opposite of Matthew. At only five foot two, she might have been able to blend in with the Japanese general populace if it were not for her brilliant silver hair and eyes, and her ivory skin that remained such no matter how much time she spent in the sun. In addition to her physical opposition of Matthew, she was also his opposite in spirit. She came from a highly spiritually gifted family, and so was spiritually aware from birth. Her fighting ability was rather stunted, but her ability to perceive the world of spirits was mostly without match. She was in Japan as a sort of training in managing this skill. Like jumping in the water without knowing how to swim, eventually you learn to close your mouth, or you drown. At least, that was her father's thoughts on the matter.
The two met in a small fortune telling shop that Angelica had been given by a friend of her family. Matthew was in a slump with his craft. It was still selling as well, but his personal projects just weren't turning out the way he wanted them too. He'd heard of the shop and decided to go to Angelica for advice. Her advice to this man as out of place as herself? Find love. She found his straightforward manner cute, from how he bluntly asked her if she was always right to his rapt attention while she handled his palm. Local men had been too boring, so she decided to give him a chance. Unfortunately, this advice flew over Matthew's head, and he left that very second.
A bit annoyed, Angelica spent the next week with the shop closed so that she could have some time to pout again. She finally opening when someone banged loudly on her door early one morning. Matthew, believe it or not, had come back for advice on where he should look. He'd been all over town and found no woman willing to give him the time of day. She told him to try the one place he hadn't looked. At this point of he story, Angelica always said she was in the middle of making food for the simple blacksmith before he figured out her meaning.
One year later, the two of them were married, and at Angelica's insistence, her old shop was closed up and given back to the friend of her family. The front of Matthew's workshop, which was mostly unused save for a few display items, was turned into her new fortune telling shop.
Five months into her pregnancy, Angelica was meditating out in front of the shop one early morning. Part of her training to learn to close off her ability to sense spirits. An unfortunate day to practice this, as it was the day a hollow formed. A soul without loved ones, it sought out the spiritually aware, as they were the only ones that would acknowledge him. The nearest, and strongest nearby was Alex's mother. There wasn't even any hesitation for who the hollow would go after. Angelica's screams roused Matthew from the trance of metalworking.
Still hot from the forge, the sword he held as he ran to her was meant for a client. He made it in time to drive off the hollow, but not to stop it before it clawed up his wife. The heat of the blade combined with Matthew's hidden power to craft spiritually powerful items were enough to get rid of the newborn hollow, still slow and dozy from it's creation.
Angelica healed, and while there was no physical damage to her child from the attack, the incident still left it's marks in the forming child.
When Alex was born, it was hard on Angelica. She was early, and a little small, but it was neither this, nor the hollow energy that left Angelica's body with the child that made it hard on the new mother. It was what she had to do immediately after this birth. Angelica was unprepared to sense the energy of a hollow within her own child. Much less that of the one to attack her four months prior. In a moment of blind panic and unnerving clarity, she came to a decision on what she must do. Firstly, she altered the memories of all present, and created a small illusion. Both acts to convince all who saw Alex over the next few days that she was actually a boy.
Secondly, she used magic from her family that she had been forbidden to attempt, and placed a seal on her daughter's soul that would both limit her child's power, and eventually halt her development. This is why she altered the memories of those who saw Alex. Better an ambiguous man than a child-like woman.
The actions took a physical toll on her, and while she recovered, the mental strain of changing her child's identity and limiting her showed. She had nightmares of the hollow attack, and suddenly became very good at drawing away from the spiritual world. She would even close up her shop for weeks at a time so that she didn't have to open up her perception enough to tell someone their fate. Matthew worried for her mental health, but Angelica would always bounce back, so the simple man never thought to take further action.
Raising Alex was certainly an experience for the new parents. Even though her powers might have been limited, her body was not. They could never find a babysitter or keep her in her room. Matthew would often turn around and find the toddler gnawing on one of the hammers he needed next for his forging. Neither he nor Angelica had even heard the door open on their baby monitors. This brought more concern in Angelica hearing nothing than Matthew.
Taking after her mother in looks, but her father in demeanor, Alex was unashamedly spoiled by her parents. On a whim, and perhaps an unconscious moment of clarity on Alex's gender, Matthew crafted a tiara for his child. Angelica kept him from realizing the deception by immediately taking to calling Alex her little prince. Such spoiling meant that Alex didn't mind whenever her appearance or headwear was teased in school. She was special. Her mother and father said so, thus it must be true. Everyone else was just jealous.
That, and if anyone tried to get physical with her, her uncanny strength was still present and growing through the years. Couple that with a few simple judo locks taught by mom, Alex had no trouble with bullies. And eventually, she capitalized on her 'feminine' appearance to catch the bullies off guard before they got close enough to mess with her physically. A boon for Angelica because this and instructions to never change clothes in public kept the secret through the years. The only obstacle left were physical exams, which coincidentally occurred on the same days as when Alex had to stay home for exams from a 'private physician'. Basically lazy days for the young girl to play with her cat and read manga while her mother forged medical documents.
The seal on Alex's soul, the one keeping her from accessing her fullbring cracked shortly after her fifteenth birthday. The hollow that once assaulted her mother had come back to finish the job. Alex was walking home after school and was met with not the sight of her cat out on the street running up to greet her, but a gaping hole in her home, from which her semi-armored father was thrown. The shock and sadness of seeing her home partially destroyed was enough to open her up to the spiritual world so that she could see the hollow atop her father. Her sharp eyes spied what seemed to be her mother under the rubble, which widened the crack further. Alex ran at the hollow with the intent to stab it with her tiara. Instead she found a massive blade in hand, her fullbring manifested through her favorite accessory as best as possible with the seal on her power.
The hollow didn't survive the day.
They intended to bury Angelica rather than cremate her, but the local cemetery didn't have the space. Neither shed a tear throughout the burning and burying of the ashes, but any who looked at them wouldn't need to look hard to see they were miserable.
For the next three years, Alex went out in a crusade, trying to wipe out every hollow that she could find on a nightly basis. She thought she had a handle on the way the world worked now. Hollows were evil and should be destroyed. She had the power to do so, and would use it. The world took almost insane glee in proving her wrong at every turn. Hollows weren't the only things that went bump in the night. Humanoids called shinigami existed apparently to protect humans from hollows. So where had they been when Angelica had been attacked? There were other humans out there with powers like Alex had. Not the same abilities, but powered humans nonetheless. And none of them had been present when Angelica was attacked either. Though they didn't recieve the brunt of Alex's annoyance. That was still reserved for hollows.
As her desire for power and revenge against all hollowkind overtook een the thin shell of a belief that she was protecting other humans instead of serving herself, Alex drove herself to extremes. She was as of yet still unaware of the source of her powers, and how connected they were to hollows. The most she had been able to gather by that point was a name. Fullbringer. And even still, something drove her to seek out hollows for more than mere killing. After a series of weird dreams, she actually began to drink the blood of hollows, becoming something like a vampire. The energy in the blood of the hollows was helpful to her goal of getting stronger, and it was also addicting.
Before she could really start to drink though, and become dependant, she was stopped by Adimus, a human far stronger than her who wanted to offer her a place in the organization known as Kosa. H could tell immediately what she'd been doing, and told her that she was to stop if she wanted to join the organization. Disobey the instruction of someone who could teach him to get stronger, or just do it on his own. The choice was pretty clear.
Instead of trying to take a shortcut to greater power, Alex trained as much as she could. It didn't matter to her how she got stronger. She needed to be stronger so that she could keep killing more and more hollows. She pushed herself so hard trying to develop a new source of power that she lost access to her powers one day, and fell into a coma for the week that followed. When she woke, she realized just how stupid she'd been. Fullbringers used an item they held dear to access their power. The seal was weakened greatly by Alex's previous drinking of hollow blood, and so she was able to access a new fullbring, manifested through her belt buckle. One that allowed her to wield various weapons, even when her tiara was already in use for armor. Her only wish was that her father, who already realized this, would have told her before she drove herself to a comatose state.
She thought she had enough power. That she would be able to take care of whatever came her way. After all, she had a new source of power, she had other humans that could fight against hollows with her, and her family was safe. Hell, she'd even had her first sort-of-not-really boyfriend by that point and though she was self sufficient. There was nothing else the world had to throw at her. Emphasis on the word was.
The Karakura Incident was yet another point where the universe looked down on Alex and decided it was time to prove her wrong again. Without any sort of warning, Alex's world was turned on it's head by the arrival of a monster far beyond her understanding of the world. Before she thought the greatest extent of a monster was a hollow, and those monsters she could handle without a hitch.
The creature that invaded her home destroyed most of the residents of Karakura town just by existing. Alex's father and cat were only spared from the fate of oblivion by the conditioning Alex's constant and unrestrained reiatsu provided. They were knocked out while Alex journeyed downstairs to face the being heading right for them. Tova Diablo, the King of Hueco Mundo had come just for Alex. He wandered in and struck a deal with the fullbringer. She returned to Hueco Mundo with him, and he wouldn't kill all three of them, or whatever else his whim demanded.
Alex agreed.
She didn't keep track of just how long she spent in Hueco Mundo. It was an endless night in that realm. While not a prisoner in a traditional sense, Alex retreated into a prison of her own making. Other humans captured with her were her only companions, but it might have been better had they not been there at all. Alex finally learned what it really meant to be a fullbringer. She learned that to be one, your mother must be attacked by a hollow before your birth. The monster that stalked and killed Angelica Dewis was the only reason Alex was in her current position. Without the hollow energy boosting what power she inherited from her parents, she might never have gained the attention of Tova. Karakura might still be standing. Her family would never have been threatened. All of this because of one hungry ghost.
In her mental prison, she practiced with her ability to use light. Not as training, but merely for distraction. Background noise while she planned just what she was going to do next. Habits not yet old returned, and her thirst for the blood of hollows grew. Not for power, but to spite them. To exert her will against these monsters in the same way they did for so many humans before. It was easy for her to fall further and further into this prison of self loathing while still trapped in the body of a teenager by her mother's seal. Unbalanced physically and mentally, all she could do was lash out.
When rescue finally came, Alex didn't want help. What she wanted was revenge in whatever form she could get it. In a moment of rage at having to be rescued, she harneshed the hollow energy flooding her soul. She couldn't control it completely, but she could force it to work for her just long enough to tear open a hole between worlds. To escape under her own power, without the help of others.
She might have thought the following year funny if she could step outside her body. She was mad a the world just because her life didn't turn out perfect. Sure she had her reasons for being immature, but it was still the sort of thing that would make her laugh if she read it in a manga.
Once she returned to the human world, the first thing she did was locate her family. They were still safe, thanks to Kosa, but there were a few changes. Chief among them was the fact that her cat, Puck, could now talk and turn into a human if he wanted. Not much of a superpower, but he wasted no time letting everyone know what he thought of them and their actions.
One of those actions being the possibly mistaken decision to get back together with a guy who'd already dumped her once. Alright, very mistaken, but this foreigner she'd fallen for was one of the few things about her life she could possibly call normal. Even if he himself didn't qualify for being normal with his ability to manipulate air and sound.
As the days went on, Alex felt a growing sense of tension and anxiety, displayed with her frequent lashing out at her father and cat. Nothing violent, but she spent as little time with them as she could manage, only returning home when she thought it absolutely necessary. Something was wrong with her. She could feel that much, she just had no way of putting a name to just what it was. A chance encounter was what it took for her to learn of the seal. Another informed her of the danger she faced. With the power of her soul kept in check by the seal, the hollow part was trying to consume it. The seal was weakening, but if it didn't break fast enough, Alex could lose her life, or worse.
She needed help, plain and simple. She could break the seal herself, but if she did her chances of surviving the process were low. Low enough to be a failing score on a test even. So she enlisted, perhaps a bit forcefully, the assistance of the one who informed her she was going to die. He had been the one to deliver the bad news and hope for survival. That and his great control over souls meant he was obligated to ensure Alex survived to see another day. So she set a date for the seal to be broken, and went off to decide whether she should clean up her bucket list, or act as though she was already assured life.
She got impatient though. When the set date came, she didn't wait long enough for her assistant. Alex settled down to break the seal herself. She had no idea just how dangerous the process of setting herself free would be. When the seal broke, it unleashed the full force of her fullbring. Her true power. The ability she should have been able to use from birth, unleashed very suddenly and violently as the seal finally broke. The full force of her soul tore through her, shaping her and nearly destroying her and the surrounding area. Had it not been for the arrival of her helper, Alex could have created a second Karakura Explosion. As it stands, all she did was push back the reconstruction and fry all of the electronics in KK town.
That wasn't the only thing the seal released though. All the energy that should have gone to developing Alex and putting her through puberty was released with the explosion. A painful process, going through five years of growth in the span of a few seconds. Add on top of that the fact that her previously assumed gender was now clearly a lie, and someone had some explaining to do. Too bad the only person Alex could ask for answers isn't among the living anymore.
Roleplay Sample:
It took her a few minutes to realize that her drink had already been served. She'd tuned out the bartender a few minutes before because he wouldn't shut up about her hair. It was a good thing she kept it tied up in a ponytail, or he might actually try to flirt with her in a way that didn't suck. She should have put him out of his misery and told him she sort of already had a boyfriend, but for the moment it seemed that letting him drone on about himself and how he admired her hair was going to get her a free drink.
And so the bartender drone on while she sipped on her beer. She was starting to see how someone might like this stuff. Didn't taste all that good, but it was decent enough to sip on if she had to. The fact that she had to stand there and listen to the bartender was actually ruining the taste for her though. She could have chained him up and just left. But, she was trying to be mature. That was the old Alex that did things like that. This was the new Alex. The more powerful Alex. The mature Alex who didn't abuse the innocents unless they were between her and a......
The sight of a hollow wandering outside the bar could not have come at a better time. Alex took another sip of her beer, then stood and gave her sweetest smile to the bartender.
"I'll be right back. I just need to check my lipstick."
She wondered if he realized she wasn't wearing any lipstick. Maybe one night she would go back, but not any time within the next week. The man would need some time to forget about her and move on to hopelessly flirting with someone else. For now though, she changed the view out of his window to that of an empty street. She just hoped he wouldn't notice a few things missing while she fought the hollow. Maybe he would notice the sounds of a rampage though.
"Oh well, he's in Tokyo after all. With all the spiritualists living here, it's a new KK Town."
